Is it possible to play alone?

In order to participate, you need to form a team of 3 students and register online. Individual applications will not be accepted.


What happens if one team member quits during the game?

The team members can be changed latest by the 1st Round project submission date (December 17th). No team can be less than 3 students. The reason of change and the details of the new team member need to be communicated immediately to the corresponding HR country contact.


One of our team members studies at another university. Can we register?

Yes. The team members can be from different universities.


I did not take marketing / management classes during my studies. Can I participate?

Sure. Henkel Innovation Challenge is open to all innovative minds for any student continuing education within a participating country. Participating countries for 2007 are: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands.


I am an exchange student and I will change to another country. Can I participate?

Exchange students can only participate if they attend the same university for the full year of studies (i.e. from September/October 2007 to earliest April 2008)


I am an intern / I was an intern at Henkel. Can I participate?

All former or current employees, interns, trainees or students writing their thesis at Henkel or its affiliated companies are not eligible to participate in the Henkel Innovation Challenge.
The participants in the process of recruitment for a job, apprenticeship or training period within Henkel or its affiliated companies are eligible for the Henkel Innovation Challenge, but will be disqualified from the point of entering Henkel or one of its affiliated companies on a contractual basis.


Do I need to speak English?

For the game it is important to know good level of English. All the communication about the game, projects, deliverables and presentations will be in English.


We registered but did not get a receipt of successful registration?

You will be contacted by Henkel in your country after the successful receipt of your application. If you do not receive an e-mail within 2 working days, your registration was not successful for one of the following reasons:

  • There is missing information in any of the requested fields;
  • The e-mail address(es) given is(are) not correct or over quota.

What happens after successful registration?

After registration your team can already start working on the 1st Round. You will receive a separate e-mail from the responsible Henkel manager to whom you should send your document(s). To learn more about the 1st Round tasks, please visit “How to Play”.

We've exceeded the deadline for application. Can we still apply?

The deadline for all countries and for all teams is given on the web site. Unfortunately we do not accept any applications after the deadline.


Can I register in more than one team?

No, you can just be a member of one team.


Which sources of information can I use for my research?

You can use all sources considered reliable, i.e. online resources, reports, interviews. All sources have to be quoted in a separate list of references attached to the project.
