Why Henkel?
I came to Henkel because it’s an international corporation and has a wide diversification. Its products are market leaders in many sectors. As a graduate engineer with broad specialist knowledge in the processes of marketing and commerce, I saw in Henkel the perfect way to round off my professional profile. Henkel also fosters a corporate culture that encourages people to come up with their own ideas.

What jobs have you done in the course of your career with Henkel?
I started off in Category Management with national and international responsibility. I had to manage the interface between commerce and industry, which meant that I had to acquire new knowledge that in turn led to optimising the processes concerned.

After that I went to Key Account Management on the retail side, and I am now Marketing Manager for Hair for the whole of Germany.

What form does your work take?
I am responsible for seeing that our brands in Germany grow and increase their market share. So I define the appropriate marketing strategies, break them down into their component parts and implement them with Sales.

What distinguishes Henkel as a good employer?
Henkel identifies the entrepreneurial potential in its employees. You are encouraged to have your own ideas and to go in for new qualifications; and everyone is urged to see the wider picture and not develop tunnel syndrome.

What is attractive to you about your work?
Most of all, it’s the variety. I am also motivated by the creative side of my work and by the responsibility I have here. If I see that I can get something moving, then that drives me on. The results fall into place and show that one has chosen the right path forward.
