Apply@Henkel

Sarah von A.

How did you come to be with Henkel?
Four years ago I was on a school visit here, and got talking with the Training Manager. He told me about becoming an IT business administrator, and so I came on a work placement with the company. That period brought Henkel home to me, and indicated that working here would be right for me. So I then applied for a training position, and was accepted.

What makes your job environment so special?
The fields of work for an IT business administrator are very varied and flexible. We provide liaison between the IT department and the commercial departments. I enjoy the fact that we can work in many departments and come into contact with many sectors and subjects.  It also pleases me that people in the various departments are very nice and friendly towards us as trainees.

What, in your view, stands out about Henkel as an employer?
One notices that the family is still much involved in the company. It is not simply a question of working for an anonymous corporation that’s just out for sales. The company cares about its employees, and offers many activities – including leisure activities.

What do you like about the work you do?
We have plenty of contact with other employees, and help solve problems that crop up.  So we try to come up with new ideas, and to insert new ways of thinking about problems into the workplace. It’s just one challenge after another.

What advice would you give to someone applying for a job with Henkel?
I think it’s very important not to dissimulate. Henkel has a particular, and very personal method of recruiting. Employees are sought out very selectively. I’ve yet to meet any one who does not fit in well here.
