SustainAbility and UNEP present international ranking of sustainability reports
SustainAbility, the English strategic management consultancy and think-tank, has published its second survey of sustainability reporting in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Henkel, with its "Sustainability Report 2001", is again rated one of the best 50 sustainability reporters worldwide, occupying 30th place. Henkel ranks third among the 15 German corporations in the international top 50 and leads the field in the noncyclical consumer goods sector. The list is based on a survey of 200 reports worldwide, from which SustainAbility chose the best 50 companies. A total of 49 criteria were used to evaluate the reports in relation to sustainability policy, management systems, performance indicators and scope of coverage. SustainAbility presented the results of the survey in a report entitle “Trust Us: The Global Reporters 2002 Survey of Corporate Sustainability Reporting“. By producing this list, SustainAbility and the UNEP want to publicize positive examples of corporate reporting and stimulate more companies to publish sustainability reports.
