Resource conservation and environmental protection through transfer and implementation of latest production technologies.

Based on the improvements achieved, main targets have been defined for the coming five years (see Our Objectives).

Worldwide certification of environmental management systems of the Adhesive Technologies business sector to international standards. 95 sites certified worldwide; other sites preparing for certification
Worldwide certification of environmental management systems of the Laundry & Home Care business sector to international standards. 28 sites certified in Europe, South America and Asia; other sites preparing for certification
Development of a sustainability check for new product categories in the Laundry & Home Care business sector. Achieved: Process established. All product categories have been assessed according to performance and environmental criteria. Detailed life cycle assessments have been carried out for main product categories.
Development of new laundry detergents and household cleaners that combine outstanding contributions to the focal areas with first-class product performance. First product concepts are being tested for market acceptance.
Assessment of all product categories in the Adhesive Technologies business sector regarding their contributions in our focal areas, to be completed by the end of 2008. Assessment matrix designed and successfully implemented for initial product categories.
European rollout of the TheoPrax Internet portal, to provide background information about laundering, dishwashing and cleaning to professionals and interested members of the public. The project plan was postponed in favor of a comprehensive concept to integrate sustainability into consumer communication.
