“Cast Your Vote For A Worthy Cause”

Henkel to make a donation for each vote cast by Henkel Race Day attendees.

With the help of visitors to our Race Day, Henkel will be supporting three social projects. For each person who visits the Henkel Smile stand and casts his or her vote, Henkel will donate

  • 1 euro to the social project chosen.

By voting, race-goers will be able to select the initiative that is closest to their heart and thus which worthy cause should receive the euro donated by Henkel.

The projects

HEALTH – Therapeutic horse riding at Reit- und Pony-Club e.V. in Düsseldorf.

With “their” Henkel-euro, visitors will be supporting the therapeutic treatment of physically disabled and behaviorally challenged children aimed at strengthening their entire being through beneficial contact with horses.

EDUCATION – Workshops in the “Haus der kleinen Forscher” in Düsseldorf.

In this “House of Young Researchers”, workshops lasting several days will be held in order to train educationalists, teachers and teaching assistants of children’s day-care centers, nurseries and kindergartens so that they can demonstrate and explain scientific experiments in a fun way that children can both relate to and enjoy.

CULTURE – The art of theater in the “Junges Schauspielhaus” in Düsseldorf.

The aim of the artistic directors at this Youth Theater is to promote theater and the thespian arts so that they can be experienced across all social strata, cultures and generations and thus promote dialog between all members of society.

By casting their votes, Race Day attendees will be helping to improve the quality of life of many people in Düsseldorf – and visitors to the Henkel-Smile marquee will also be able to take part in a prize draw.

Henkel Smile

In  its  Vision  and  Values,  Henkel  has  declared  its  dedication to sustainability  and  corporate  social  responsibility.  Based  on  this commitment,  we recognize the need to harmonize economic, ecological and social  goals.  This  applies  to  all  of  the  Company’s  operations – throughout  the  entire  value chain, from raw materials, production and logistics to the use and disposal of our products.

In addition, we recognize that we have a responsibility toward society that goes beyond our direct business activities. Henkel Smile provides the umbrella for the Company’s corporate citizenship activities. With its three core elements MIT, HFI and Social Partnerships, Henkel Smile covers employee and retiree engagement (MIT), emergency fund (HFI), and company and brand engagement (Social Partnerships). Henkel Smile supports activities in the areas of engagement: social needs, education and science, fitness and health, arts and culture, and environment.

MIT employee engagement

Through MIT Henkel supports the voluntary social engage- ment by employees and retirees in community improvement projects, which are proposed and actively managed by the individual, in an effort to “Make an Impact on Tomorrow” (MIT).

HFI emergency fund

The HFI emergency fund provides worldwide and immediate help in a crisis or a disaster affecting people and their communities, through the independent and non-profit association “Henkel Friendship Initiative e.V.”.

Social Partnerships company & brand engagement

Through Social Partnerships Henkel and its brands contribute to foster community life and the advancement of society through company and brand partnerships.

In terms of its corporate values, Henkel is committed to operating in a sustainable and socially responsible manner. Wherever Henkel does business around the world, the company assumes responsibility for its products, technologies and its social environment. Henkel Smile is responsibility put in practice, and an important component of the company’s sustainability-oriented approach. The focus of Henkel Smile is on the employees and pensioners themselves, people who devote their enthusiasm, understanding, willingness to help and personal commitment to their project ideas, and thus make a contribution to achieving global development targets.

The race meeting is also part of the Henkel Smile program: Henkel sees itself primarily as a “good citizen” at its various sites. By organizing the Henkel Race Day, the company helps to strengthen the image of the city of Düsseldorf, adding a little more joy to the lives of its citizens – very much in line with our corporate philosophy of “making people’s lives easier, better and more beautiful”.
